Salkantay Travel Information

Altitude & Acclimatization

The trek reaches its peak at the Salkantay Pass (4,630 m). To ensure your safety and enjoyment, QOSQO ADVENTURES recommends arriving in Cusco at least 48 to 72 hours prior to departure. Spend your first days exploring the city or the Sacred Valley, staying hydrated, eating light, and avoiding alcohol.

Weather Dynamics

The climate in the Andes is unpredictable. From April to October (dry season), expect bright sunny days and freezing nights (below 0°C). From November to March (rainy season), expect more humidity and frequent showers. Always carry rain gear and dress in layers.

Safety and Communication

Your safety is our priority. Our teams carry satellite phones and medical oxygen for emergencies. While Wi-Fi and charging stations are available at some campsites for a small fee, we recommend bringing a 10–20k mAh power bank and preparing for limited connectivity.

Community and Sustainability

We practice responsible travel by supporting local families and ensuring our mules are not overloaded. Please pack out all trash and respect the fragile Andean ecosystems.
